About Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars became a part of the National Football League in 1995 as an expansion team and by 1996 were competing in the playoffs and got to the AFC Championships which they eventually lost to the New England Patriots. Between 1997 and 1998 the posted consecutive 11-5 records and in 1999 posted a 14-2 but they failed to get past the AFC Championship game.

The Jaguars, who play at Municipal Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida, have won two Division Championships, and have appeared in the playoffs six out of fifteen seasons.

Past Season

2009 will be the 15th season for the Jacksonville Jaguars franchise which came into the league in 1995 with the Carolina Panthers. Head Coach Jack Del Rio, coming off a 5-11 2008 season, will look to take his team back into the NFL Playoffs and the Conference Championships.

With the eighth overall pick in the 2009 draft, the Jags chose Virginia OT Eugene Monroe (where he was voted as the ACC’s most outstanding blocker with a blocking consistency grade of 88.42). With David Garrard leading the team and Torry Holt and Mike Sims-Walker taking up the 1 & 2 receivers respectfully should open the game up for RB Maurice Jones Drew and the running game.

Although the team has had to endure a 0-2 start (losing to Indy and Arizona) in the first two weeks of the season, look for Coach Del Rio to push his team into the playoffs, elusive since 2007
